Old Johor City is one of the defense cities built by the Malays that still exists and remains in physical form and can be seen through the production of this city that is not influenced by other architecture.
This city is known as Kota Batu by the local community because it was built on a cape known as Tanjung Batu. The position facing the Johor river is an advantage for the Johor soldiers who are on guard to see the enemy ships coming to attack Old Johor City first.
Old Johor City Museum displays information about the history of Old Johor City which used to be the administrative center after the fall of the Malacca Sultanate in 1511. It consists of five sections, such as the introduction of Old Johor City, Kingdom Kings, trade and war, forts along the Johor River and various archaeological excavations carried out in Kota Tinggi District.
